Exploring the DP Overview Page: Grade Distribution Insights π
The Grade Distribution Table at the bottom of the DP Overview page in SpotLight provides a detailed look at how student grades are spread across subjects, terms, and classes. This guide explains how to read the table, apply filters, and export the data for further analysis.
1. Overview of Grade Data Table
The table summarizes grades for students across subjects and terms. It includes multiple metrics per class, such as the number of students, average grade, and the distribution of grades achieved.
- Rows: Represent individual classes within the selected filters. Scroll down to view all rows, and adjust how many rows per page.
- Columns: Include class name, number of students, average grade, and breakdown of grades. Scroll across for all columns.
- Grade Distribution: Shows how many students achieved each DP grade level within the class.
Tip: Scroll horizontally to view all columns, especially if your school has multiple metrics displayed.
2. Filtering the Table
Filters on the left-hand panel allow you to focus on specific subjects, academic years, or terms. The table updates dynamically to reflect the selected filters.
- Select an Academic Year (e.g., 2024β2025).
- Choose a Semester or Term (e.g., Semester 1).
- Select a Subject (e.g., Mathematics).
- The table will update to show only the relevant classes and their grade distributions.
Example: Applying the filters for a five year period, all terms, Mathematics Analysis and Approaches displays 10 classes, each with the number of students, average grade, and distribution of grades.
